Prince George has a population of approximately 80,000, and is the largest city in northern British Columbia. The city is situated at the confluence of the Fraser and Nechako rivers and is known as BC's northern capital. The area is a recreational mecca with some 1600 lakes and rivers, four ski hills and hundreds of miles of hiking, biking and cross-country trails all within a day of town.

Connaught Hill Park
Located in the heart of downtown Prince George, Connaught Hill Park features a panoramic 360 degree view of the city. Enjoy a picnic while scanning the horizon. Take a walk among the elaborate flower gardens.

Cottonwood Island Nature Park
Prince George's riverside nature park, it is located close to downtown along the Nechako Rive. Offering a quiet retreat this park has a network of nature trails through the magnificent stands of cottonwood trees. Canoes may be launched from the east end. Kiwanis Park, at the west end, has the park's only paved public boat launch.

Farmer's Market
The market is held on Saturday mornings in the courtyard on the corner of George and Third. You will find local produce growers, bakers, artisans, crafters and entertainers every Saturday from May - September.

Fort George Park
Located on the banks of the mighty Fraser River, this park is home to many special outdoor events. You will find large play areas along with a children's playground, picnic tables, barbeque and horseshoe pits. Attractive floral designs enhance the Native Burial Grounds containing the Lheit-Lit'en ancestors; a miniature 1912 steam train runs in Fort George Park on weekends and holidays during the summer months. Fraser Fort George Regional Museum
The recently revamped Museum is situated on the banks of the beautiful Fraser river in Fort George Park. Not only does it highlight the natural and cultural history of the area, but it stands on ground where Simon Fraser established Fort George in 1807! Hart Highlands Ski Hill
Located within the city limits, this hill always first opens right after a dump of snow. Offering 11 machine groomed runs, this non profit society keeps its day rates low. Rentals, ski school, T-Bar, city bus to the hill. A great place for night skiing. Call 250-962-8006 for more information.

Prince George Golf Club
A year-round, semi-private recreational facility that offers golf, curling and racquet sports as well as a fully licensed restaurant and lounge along with private banquet and meeting rooms. Prince George Golf and Country club, is located five minutes from the hotel, this course possesses traditional styling with many bunkers and water in wide open and rolling fairways. Prince George Railway & Forest Industry Museum
Bring your children down to this fascinating museum to see the collection of rolling stock including a 100-ton steam crane built in 1913 and an engine turntable. Do not miss the 1914 Grand Trunk Station that was relocated more than 100 km from Penny, B.C. Step back in time and walk through the First Class Nechako Car with its deep woods and polished brass. Prince George Symphony Orchestra
