Mission is located just 70 kilometres east of Vancouver and only a few minutes north of the Canada-U.S.A. border. It is situated on the north bank of the Fraser River, overlooking the Fraser Valley. The area is surrounded by the incredible beauty of mountainous vistas and natural forest settings. Mission is the site of Canada's first train robbery, B.C.'s first rail link to the United States, and one of the earliest Hydroelectric dams. Mission Firefighters Museum
The museum is housed within the 18,000 square foot Mission Fire Hall Headquarters building. The display features a 1954 GMC Fire Truck, which has been completely restored. Memorabilia covering the 75 year history of the Mission Firefighters, as well as an historical scrapbook dating from 1927, can also be found here.
