Canadian Museum of Rail Travel
The passenger train helped establish Canada's west and the importance of the train is well reflected in this wonderful museum. You will find a complete luxury train from 1929 - the 'Golden Age' of Rail Travel on display. The 'Trans Canada Limited' cost a fortune to build and was the ultimate in luxury. See the high standards of service that were offered and sample afternoon tea in a plush business car. There is an original railway station on display. The museum is adding new exhibits on an ongoing basis.

Colonel Baker Home
The Colonel Baker Home depicts the life of the founder of Cranbrook, It is also the home of the Forest Renewal Program of the Province of British Columbia. The house was built in 1877 as his original residence in Cranbrook. Located at Baker Park.
Cranbrook Recreation Complex

Elizabeth Lake Sanctuary
The Elizabeth Lake Sanctuary attracts many different species of ducks, song birds and Canada Geese. The area provides a safe place for the birds, as well as animals such as moose, deer, and painted turtles. You will find the Sanctuary a little south of the city and it is a "must see" for bird watchers. This 249-hectare Sanctuary is a marshland that attracts all manner of migratory birds and waterfowl as they pass through the Elk Valley corridor.
Fort Steele Heritage town

Kootenay Trout Hatchery
It is open 7 days a week and offers guided tours in the summer months. You will learn about the life cycle of a trout while viewing small fry and fingerlings. You can be guided through the trout rearing process by an interpreter or by the informational displays in the hatchery. The Kootenay Trout Hatchery has stocked over 400 lakes in the Kootenays. Moyie Lake
The Lake area offers an excellent sandy beach and is a favourite spot for sail boats. This large lake is only a 20 minute drive west of Cranbrook. Located in the Provincial Park.
Moyie Lake Provincial Park
Fly-casting and trolling for trout are available at Moyie Lake Provincial Park. Boating, windsurfing and swimming are permitted, and an amphitheatre is located in the park. Norbury Lake Provincial Park
The Steeples, a distinctive feature of the Hughes Range of the Rocky Mountains, stands clear against the sky to the east of this lightly wooded area. Just south of Fort Steele, the park encompasses Peckham's Lake and fronts on Norbury Lake. Beach areas, water sports and pleasant walking trails. Rainbow trout in Peckham's Lake. Splash Zone Water Slides
The Splash Zone Water Slides features many unique slides such as the three twister slides, and high speed tube rides with 3 man bullet tubes. Wading pool and hot tubs are on the premises, as batting cages and a children's play area are also located here. Call 250-426-3389 for more information.

Wasa Lake Provincial Park
A large campground and day area with picnic facilities is available at Wasa Lake Provincial Park. Wasa Lake village advertises the warmest swimming lake in the Kootenays and offers camping, swimming, hiking, cycling, boating and nature viewing opportunities. There is an 8 km wheelchair and bike accessible trail around the lakeshore and a 2.7 km self-guided interpretation trail. Widemouth bass angling is available in Wasa Lake. Wildlife Education Centre
The Centre is maintained by the East Kootenay Hunters Association. The Wildlife Education Centre displays wildlife species from over BC. Located in the Chamber of Commerce building, the centre is opened with corresponding to the Chamber’s hours.
